Providing Authentic Research Experiences to Online Students - Online Undergraduate Scholars (OURS) Program

Session Overview

This video was part of the June 2022 REMOTE: The Connected Faculty Summit

High impact practices such as research opportunities do not widely exist for online students—often non-traditional learners (59%), many from underrepresented populations. The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and EdPlus have joined efforts to develop the Online Undergraduate Research Scholars (OURS) Program to address the pressing challenge of offering quality research opportunities to ASU Online students at scale. Initiatives like the OURS Program are critical for academic success, retention, and persistence in the online space. OURS serves a wide range of students across natural, social, and humanities disciplines to foster a pipeline of master learners who will be highly prepared for various career trajectories.
