Most educators found themselves adapting their teaching strategies for immediate use in an online setting as a temporary response to the global pandemic. Given the constraints, educators have had to creatively adapt their tools and strategies to continue creating and maintaining an effective learning environment for their students online.
In this session, Elaine Tan will explore and reflect using 8 strategies to meet today’s teaching challenges by using technology, refining our process, facilitating active learning, and gaining insights to optimizing our course.

Elaine W. Tan is a Senior Learning Designer within the Learning Research & Design team at Pearson. She uses insights from cognitive and behavioral sciences to design effective learning experiences to improve outcomes.
Elaine earned her PhD in cognitive science at Mississippi State University and has since developed a deep interest in understanding more about how we, as humans, learn best! She also has 12 years of teaching experience in cognitive and experimental psychology and is currently teaching cognitive psychology online.
