A Recipe for Success: Using Bio Beyond to supplement a non-majors Biology Course

Session Overview

This video was part of the July 2020 REMOTE: The Connected Faculty Summit

Faculty often struggle with motivating students in non-major general education science courses. In Spring 2017, Oakton Community college started implementing the use of BioBeyond, a courseware from Inspark. BioBeyond uses gamified adaptive strategies to help students with mastery learning of basic biological concepts. We will share the strategies that we have used to scale adoption of BioBeyond with faculty in the department and data that demonstrate the improvements that we have seen in student learning after the implementation of BioBeyond.
