Dr. Joseph Sirven | Professor of Practice

Dr. Joseph Sirven, an Emeritus Professor and Chair of Neurology at Mayo Clinic Arizona, currently practices at the Mayo Clinic and serves as Editor-in-Chief of Brain & Life en Español. With a rich background in neurology and public health communication, Dr. Sirven teaches health systems science at ASU’s College of Health Solutions. He has published extensively on epilepsy and its treatment and is a certified Aviation medical examiner and FAA consultant. Dr. Sirven also hosts the NPR podcast “What’s Health Got to Do with It?” which is integrated into his course to enrich student learning.

Tamara Mitchell | Instructional Designer

Tamara Mitchell, Principal Instructional Designer with EdPlus at ASU, has over 12 years of experience in designing online courses and 7.5 years of teaching online writing courses. She holds an MA in English Language and Literature and an MSEd in Information Technology and Instructional Design. Tamara focuses on creating engaging, inclusive, and effective online learning environments.
