In this Episode:

Joy Griffin | Assistant Teaching Professor & Assistant Director of Venture Development

An Assistant Teaching Professor and Assistant Director of Venture Development for the Fulton Schools of Engineering, Joy champions teaching as social innovation, focusing on equipping students with the skills they need to succeed. Her courses foster critical thinking and equip students with the practical skills needed to excel in their careers after graduation.

Nicolas Lindquist | Multimedia Developer

My name is Nick Lindquist, and I’ve been a Multimedia Developer with GOEE since December 2016. I manage green screen video studios at ASU Polytechnic and Tempe, leading a talented team of artists who create videos, graphics, animations, interactives, and Extended Reality experiences to enhance learning outcomes for ASU Engineering students.

I began my career at ASU in 2001 as a Media Specialist in Distance Learning Technology (DLT) and have since worked extensively in online learning and related technologies. My journey also included time with the University Technology Office (UTO), where I contributed to the Applied Learning Technology Institute (alt^I) and the University Common Computing team.

I hold a BA in Broadcasting (2001) and an MS in Graphic Information Technology (2006) from ASU. These academic foundations have been instrumental in shaping my approach to multimedia development and educational technology.

Outside of work, I’m passionate about CrossFit and meditation, as I believe regular mental and physical exercise makes life easier. I also enjoy photography, painting, drawing, animation, biking, and tinkering with vintage computers and video games. For the record, I’m firmly in the camp that believes the Game of Thrones books are better than the TV series.

Andrew Salcido | Instructional Designer

Instructional Designer at Arizona State University since 2014.

I collaborate with instructors to create engaging, meaningful, yet challenging courses that align with educational pedagogy best practices. My academic background includes a BA in Elementary Education (2007) and an MA Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction of Technology (2009).

Additionally, I hold a Bachelor’s in English, a Master’s of Education in Higher and Postsecondary Education, and a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design and Performance Improvement.

Outside of work, I enjoy outdoor activities such as running, hiking, fishing, and driving around. I have four young children who share this passion for the outdoors. I also serve as an assistant coach for a D1 High School Track and Cross-Country team.
