Course Stories, Season 5, Minisode - Join us at FOLC fest!

We’re interrupting your regularly scheduled episode this week  – I know we promised a totally regular season, but this is Course Stories, we are nothing if not exciting every week! We promise though, we’re interrupting that feed for some exciting news and opportunities for you, our listeners! Next week, Course Stories will be live, in person at FOLC Fest! This is the inaugural FOLC Fest where passionate educators are coming together to discuss the future of learning. Join us for a very special live episode where we will talk about inclusive online learning, support, and resources available to faculty and designers, and everyone’s favorite topic – AI! We will also be hosting a poster session and want to encourage you to check out another project the EdPlus Media team supports – Space for Humans. We also give you the scoop on an exclusive (okay – not that exclusive) red-carpet event TONIGHT! We can’t wait to see you at FOLC Fest!

In this Episode:

FOLC Fest is taking place Thursday, March 14 from 3-7 PM and Friday, March 15 from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM at the Omni Hotel in Tempe across from ASU’s Tempe Campus (Address: 7 E University Dr, Tempe, AZ 85281).

Course Stories will be presenting as a part of Track 1 on Friday, March 15 at 10:30 AM. We will be hosting a poster session from 3 to 4 PM, also on March 15. Don’t forget to support friends of the pod, Space for Humans, who will also be giving a poster session at this time.

Ricardo Leon is a Media Developer for EdPlus and is a co-creator and co-host of Course Stories. He has developed a number of other podcasts and various other forms of instructional media. In 2021, Ricardo was on a team that received The President’s Award, which formally recognizes successful solutions in innovation, for his work on the Study Hall project with Crash Course.

Mary Loder is an instructional designer at EdPlus and is the Online Learning Manager - Professional Development and Training on the Instructional Design and New Media team at EdPlus. She is also the co-creator and co-host for Course Stories, a podcast highlighting and showcasing the talents of our faculty and staff at ASU.

Your Producer

Elizabeth Blythe-Lee, a Senior Instructional Designer at ASU Online - EdPlus, is the creative force behind Course Stories. An ASU alumna with a BA in English Literature and a Masters of Education from NAU, Elizabeth has been a part of the ASU community since 2009. Her expertise in crafting accessible online courses is enhanced by her passion for storytelling and a unique flair for adding a touch of Disney magic to her work. A history and literature enthusiast, Elizabeth's background in writing shines through in every course narrative, making learning an enchanting journey.
