Nicholas Jenkins | Executive Producer for Complexly Media, and Filmmaker.
With 10 years of production experience and nearly 20 years of filmmaking experience, Nicholas was a part of the original production team for Crash Course, Sci-Show, PBS Eons, and is currently leading the production of Study Hall at ASU.
Caroline Palumbo | Video Producer
Caroline Palumbo attended the University Of Central Oklahoma for Journalism. During her time in college she realized she would prefer to be telling stories from behind the camera rather than in front. She started her career in advertising in 2014 working on documentary and commercial productions. In 2020, after six years of working for advertising agencies in various roles from a PA to a Senior Producer, she was ready for a change and transitioned into working into edutainment with Complexly. She is currently a producer on the Study Hall series.
Dr. Emily Zarka | Instructor, English
Emily earned her doctorate in literature from Arizona State University where she currently serves as an Instructor in the English Department. With expertise in the Gothic genre, horror, and monsters in literature and film, Zarka’s research applies the theory that ‘human history is monster history.’ Zarka is the creator, writer, and host of the popular YouTube series “Monstrum,” the flagship show on PBS’ Storied humanities channel. Since its launch in 2019, “Monstrum” has won multiple Telly awards and was a 2022 Webby Honoree in Video-Best Writing. She also serves as co host and script editor for Storied’s “Fate & Fabled” series. Zarka wrote and hosted the Telly award-winning documentary special Exhumed: A History of Zombies that aired nationally on PBS in October 2020. She is currently developing a lecture series for Audible.
Aubrey Holland | Editing Wizard for Study Hall & Multimedia Developer for IDNM under EdPlus
Coming from a background of video editing, wedding videography, and media specialist work, Aubrey is currently a multimedia developer for the IDNM team under Edplus at ASU. She is primarily a media developer for the Youtube channel StudyHall, but also assists with other media needs.
