Course Stories, Season 3, Episode #1: Creating Cultural Coherency: TAM 542 Leading Change and Transformation in a Global Environment

Doug Guthrie has spent his career researching, writing, teaching and advising companies about two topics: organizational development, and the Chinese economic reforms that lead to successful economic development models. 

He is Professor of Practice in Global Leadership and Director of China Initiatives at the Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Margaret Dempsey Dotson serves as an Assistant Director of Instructional Design for ASU Zai Xian at ASU EdPlus where she leads global education programs and partnerships. Maggie fuses her experience launching global initiatives and leading diverse teams across higher education, workforce development, and education startup spaces with a passion to advance the life trajectories of culturally and linguistically diverse learners through educational opportunity.

Zachary Zidek is an Instructional Designer on the Zai Xian team.  He contributes to the culturally responsive design of courses, and utilizes his international experience with educational institutions across Asia to add strategic insight to the team decision making process.

Kathy is a translation curriculum coordinator on the ASU Zai Xian team at EdPlus. She works closely between the IDs and the approved translation vendors on the course design, redesign, and translation of course content by applying cultural awareness and cultural adaptation to the courses.

Ricardo Leon is a Media Developer for EdPlus and is a co-creator and co-host of Course Stories. He has developed a number of other podcasts and various other forms of instructional media. In 2021, Ricardo was on a team that received The President’s Award, which formally recognizes successful solutions in innovation, for his work on the Study Hall project with Crash Course.

Mary Loder is the Manager of Professional Development and Training on the EdPlus Digital Learning team at EdPlus. She is also the co-creator and co-host for Course Stories, a podcast highlighting and showcasing the talents of our faculty and staff at ASU.
